    Hi
My Sony DVD players let me play SACDs. This means puttinng my RX-V630RDS into 6 Channel mode. It all seems to work fine apart from the fact that I get very little (if any) bass from my sub woofer. Anyone got any ideas?

    cheers

How is bass management set up on the DVD player? because the Yamaha won't be doing any in 6 channel mode.

I'm at work now so struggling to remember correctly as its not in front of me. I think that the only option is to let the DVD unit know that there is a sub connected....The DVD is quite old - I think its a Sony DVP-NS700??

I'd suggest your DVD player is sending all/most of the bass to your main/surround speakers while twiddling it's thumbs waiting for an LFE track to send to the subwoofer which might not be there. I'll check out my settings.
