Yamaha RX-V2600 - Pure Direct mode

Hi chaps,

I've set up my speakers as small and set the crossover at 80 Hz.

One question when I'm using my Beresford DAC and set the receiver to 2 channel pure direct mode obviously the subs out of action.... does this mean that my speakers have now been set to large (full range)?? It’s just that I noticed that there's still a fair amount of bass.

I think you're correct (I don't have the same amp but have the Yamaha DSP-AX763) - Pure Direct switches off all AV processing including speaker size and crossover so will direct full range to your front speakers (not exactly the same as setting them to large as this concept disappears in Pure Direct, but essentially end result is the same).

Incidently, if you want to use the sub in Pure Direct mode you would need a sub that allows you to also connect via the level filter (like the BK Gemini for example) wired to your main front speaker connections on your amp.
