I just use a single phono cable and that works fine.

There is a sub out on the amp, its beside the pre-outs, I believe its at the bottom of them.

The neutrik connection is for high-level/speaker-level, i.e. it allows to connect directly to the speaker terminal of an amp (stereo amps for example don't typically have a subwoofer output).
For connecting active subs to AV amps/receivers use the line-level connection (phono/RCA connectors).
