Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm taking delivery tomorrow of my first home cinema system, so am new to it. I'm getting the Yamaha RX V1500 and Mordaunt Short Avant Premiere Plus speakers.

I'd just like to check that I'm right in thinking the rear speakers of the Premiere Plus connect to the 'Surround left' and 'Surround Right' NOT the 'Surround Back Left' and Surround Back right'.

Also, the Mordant short spec. says the impedance is 4-8 ohms. Do I leave the Yamaha set at 8 ohms (rather than changing it to the 6 ohm setting).

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes put them on the surround left and right ones for 5.1.

Not sure with the speaker impedance one.

Just leave it on 8 ohms. You should be fine.

I got mine a few days ago. I'm supposed to be studying for some very important (and very difficult) exams.
I couldn't resist it though. I knew if I studied I'd spend all my time thinking about the receiver, so I spent a whole day setting it up and wiring and fitting all the speakers. Heh.

Even if I fail... totally worth it. :D
