£300 collected is fine by me if you decide to go for it and I am at home for this full week.

How long have you had the receiver?

Is the 2 year warranty transferable? I noticed that you had been posting in the owner's thread about the receiver lacking in bass. Is that an issue with the receiver?

I am not 100% sure because I have seen posts where the seller mentioned it was transferable but the Peter Tyson website mentions the following.

"In the instance where we offer a free extended warranty over and above the manufacturers standard period, this portion is not transferable."

From my experience the Yamaha receivers do last a few good years under nomal user.

There is nothing wrong with the receiver. It was me who had set the speaker configuration incorrectly in the receiver settings before I ran the auto calibration. I found that setting the fronts as bi-amp before the auto-calibration messed up the EQ results.

Setting it up as normal + zone 2 and then running the auto calibration sets it up correctly.

But if you want to setup the receiver for music then you need to configure the second pattern with just the 2 fronts (stereo mode) and enable bi-amp before you run the auto calibration.

That way you get the best of both worlds.

Thanks for all the info. I know that you don't want offers but I'm afraid the best I could do is £260. I can collect this weekend and pay cash if that interests you?

Yes, Monday & Tuesday I am at home. And it will be too heavy to carry it in the tube unless you are into weight lifting
