Just bought the above with the matching dvd player & speaker package.......very pleased with it all apart from.......fan noise!
It's not too bad tbh, just late at night.
According to Yamaha the fan only comes on when it gets warm to cool the unit down, no problem but when the fan comes on I have looked & touched the casing & it's hardly warm at all. .....very annoying. They tell me there is no option to A) turn it off altogether & B) to turn it on continuous.
So my only option is to try to combat the noise.........would a glass front to the cabinet contain the noise?
I have a sony amp that has 2 options A) Auto & B) continuous, has anyone been able to find out if the Yammie has similar hidden option in the menus?
Appreciate any help & advice guys.....
btw I would have opted for the Yammie RXV450 (I presume this doesn't have a fan???) but it won't fit in me cabinet & me missus doesn't like the big amps...
