    Heya.

Just received my new componant cables, so instead of going straight to the TV from my DVD player, i've put it through my Amp as I've got two inputs I want in.

Well, I've connected them all up. Got my Componant leads going into DVD on the amp, and then to Monitor Out.

But, i'm getting no picture at all. I'm getting sound, but no picture. I'm getting writing on the screen, whatever comes up on the amp screen is coming up on the screen, so something is getting through.

The only thing I can think of, is I haven't activated something on the amp, or I need to change the settings on my DVD player to make sure i've got it on NTSC Progresisve Scan (DOesn't do PAL)

    Any explanations?

All i'm getting is a grey screen. I've connected the DVD player to AV1 with a scart lead, and it'll appear on there. But nothing on AV4, which is the componant inpput for the TV. Just a grey screen and the menu for the amp. Grrr.

    Help?

I had this problem as well on my Yamaha (cheaper model).
Don't know how I solved it, but repluging the inputs fixed the problem??
Also make sure you switch on upconvert if you have non component inputs.

I've got two componant inputs going into my amp under "DVD" and "DTV"

I've unplugged them and connected the DVD player directly, and it works, and looks a treat. So it's got to be something to do with the amp.

DO I need to fiddle the settings? Or should it just go to DVD when I seletct that on the input? And then DTV when I select that?

I will try just replugging them in again.

Yep it should just switch between the two automatically.
Try setting up-conversion to on to see if that helps.
