Question Yamaha. Pure Direct... Straight.... Enhancer...?

I am using my A1030 for a 2 channel stereo setup via preouts to a power amp.

As am using spotify I like the enhance feature which seems to add something to my listening experince.

I'm just wondering if you think I should be using pure direct instead?

The ENHANCER simply tries to compensate for the frequencies lost in conjunction with compressed audio formats. It has no benefit if listening to lossless audio. The PURE mode removes all external processing not actually required to output the audio and even the front panel display is turned off to help prevent the associated circuitry from influencing the audio signal. You do however also lose any bass management so it may not be as viable an option if using small or diminutive speakers.

If you've conventional stereo speakers and if the stereo source is a quality source feeding lossless audio into the receiver then PURE is the better option yo use.
