Are these Yamaha NS-P610 speakers good for Home Cinema? I just bought the Yamaha DSP-AX620 amplifier and was told that this set of speakers would work very well with it. Conversely, I was told that the JBL SCS 135 would NOT work well with it.

    Any comments on either thought?

What reason did they give for the JBL´s not working so well??

I know Yamaha speakers do sound good when paired with Yamaha amps, I had a Yamaha RXV795 with NS100 speakers.

Get a demo and choose what you like most, and what sounds the best to you!!

I think he felt that the amplifier was overly powerful when compared to the abilities of the JBl system.

Better to have more power than not enough. Unless you´re running the system at VERY loud levels it shouldnt be a problem. It presents a problem when the amp cant drive the speakers with enough power, thats when you get problems.

Its worth having a look round at other speaker systems as well, such as Kef, Mission, B&W etc etc
