I'm sure they sound fantastic, but I cringe when I imagine the price of these products.

I think the AS3000 Integrated (100w/ch) was about £4000, so a separate Power Amp/Pre-Amp is going to be expensive.

    A-S3000 - Overview - HiFi Components - Audio & Visual - Products - Yamaha - UK and Ireland

The Yamaha M-5000 Power Amp is also 100w/ch but we assume the component quality is much higher.

    M-5000 - Overview - Yamaha - UK and Ireland

The Yamaha C-5000 has several XLR inputs and outputs, but no digital circuits.

    C-5000 - Overview - Yamaha - UK and Ireland

I don't know if the price has been announced yet, but I would speculate the Pair would easily be in the £7000 range or more. Though nothing more than a guess.

I notice these products are NOT listed on the Yamaha USA website.

If the phono stage on my A-S2100 is anything to go by, then that new TT of theirs could be very good indeed if they have got the mechanics right as well. I have always thought the right place for a high-end phono stage was as part of the TT.

As for the pre-amp and amp, I guess they are just refinements of the A-S3000 with a quite bit more grunt on the power amp and as you say - probably a massive price tag to with them.

I do like the massive meters in it :)

The biggest problem I can see is finding a rack to house that lot -
    amp - 27Kg
    pre - 19Kg
    tt - 26.5Kg
    = ~73Kg

It was hard enough to find something just for the A-S2100 at 23Kg - never mind that lot - ouch!

I also wouldn't be surprised if each component was 4k+.

I wonder how much of a difference you would hear between an A-S1100 and a C5000+M5000 pair?
