Im going to buy a power amp to add to my yamaha dsp ax630 se for that extra performance with music.
Ive been offered a Yamaha mx-630 power amp for £100. Problem is i cant find any information on it anywhere. Do any of you people know if its a good amp and if it is better for driving my mains then the dsp amp im using for home cinema.
Does it compare to power amps priced at about the £400 mark which is my budget.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks but the only reference to that model is asking for a $19 dollar subscription before i can see it:(

I remember these (barely). Try ebay.com (search past ads too).

By the sounds of that response it sounds really old:( . I found it on ebay though and gives the spec as:
135 Watts X 2 at 8 ohm. 190 watts X 2 at 4 ohm. Dynamic Power 8 ohms - 185 watts.
It seems to have some power to it, but i dont know if these old amps are up to pace with the equivilents to todays standards.
Any old school veterans around?

Early nineties vintage, IIRC. I think there was a review in Gramophone (may be available or verifiable online, if the latter a big library would have it in storage).
