Just maybe thinking of upgrading my Panny to the Yamaha as it can be acquired at fairly good prices at the moment.

How good is the Yamaha over the Panny ?

I owned a LPX500 and had a AE500 on demo. TBH, whilst the LPX was better it was not hugely so and I certainly would not upgrade from an AE500 to an LPX even if only for a few hundred pounds.

You will see a far bigger improvement moving to a DLP like the HT1000/HT1100 - and I mean a huge improvement.
