Yamaha iPod dock - A-S500 amp

I have just bought this amp, and find that it has an iPod dock input. This is useless to me since I don't have an iPod, but it would be really useful if I could use this as another component (phono plugs) input.

Does anyone have any idea as to how this might be done (externally of course - don't want to start delving around in the box!)?

Looks like a Yamaha proprietary connector so no, I think it can only be used with a Yamaha ipod dock.
