    hi,

    I have the following set-up

    Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR-E50
Celestion 305 AVP (8ohm satalite speakers)
    Yamaha HTR-5550 AV Reciever

Overall i'm pleased with the system. But feel that the system lacks some dynamics, possibily a little more treble and better bass and better overall sound quality.

Music is a priority for me, as music use is 60% and movies are 40%

As I have a budget amplifer, i'm thinking of upgrading to a better model. Possibilities are:-

    Marantz Sr5400
    Marantz Sr5400(OSE).

Does anyone think that it's worth upgrading the amplifer?, will this impove the overall quality of the music?. Is the extra cost justfied ? or am I just wasting my money......

Any help from you AV experts appreciated....

same level of amp near enough. music would improve but i reckon movies would drop in quality.
i've never directly compared them so don't take too much heed but i'd stick with the yammy
