"We come now to chapter 10, running time somewhat over 30 minutes. Here the Yamaha draws the green meadow very beautifully, as Harry, Hermine and Ron in the proximity of Hagwarts around-changes. Here one notices only that still clearly possible for more image quality is, if one with boliden > 3,000 € e.g. our picture master Denon DVD-A1XV compares, which make a still detailed, still more plastic picture possible with still more neutral, clearer colour. A small, visible jump in quality is possible in addition, with the two more favorable models Pioneer DV-868AVi and Denon DVD-3910, both offers still more structure and refinement in the picture. For the 800 € league however sets from now on with the image quality via HDMI of the DVD-S2500 the yardsticks, it represents still somewhat seizable and more brilliantly than the already very good Denon DVD-2910"

"The excellent acoustic conception of the DVD-S2500 continues in the SACD enterprise. With the Multichannel SACD "Frankie of goes ton of Hollywood, ' rises up hard - the Sonic Collection '" could really inspire the Yamaha. The spritzige, serious, but never exaggerates sounding or aggressive high clay/tone range earns yourselves special praise. In the comparison to the DVD-S2300 from earlier production, which it meant sometimes too good during the high clay/tone rendition, the DVD-S2500 never lies beside, but acted alive and stimmig. Within the high clay/tone range during the SACD rendition the Yamaha works even still more behaender than the Denon DVD-2910, which acts in the direct comparison more reservedly and less energy shows. The Denon puts more value on harmony, during which Yamaha a spritzige, forward striving rendition goes over everything."

    "Pro:
Class-best picture on use of the internal Scalers and the HDMI exit

In each relationship outstanding acoustic achievements

Extensive adjusting options for the SACD rendition

High-quality front plate and equipment back

    Cleared up interior life

    I.link interface

    Pro Logic ii-decoder on board

    Graphically first-class user surface

Drive assembly with perfect error correction

    Contra:
Drive assembly reads in to slow

No complete bass management and no time Alignment for DVD audio

Remote maintenance and equipment display do not convince"

Those google-generated translations are good for a headache, nothing more.

    Hi Zoro,

I've had one these running for about 2 weeks now. Got it hooked up to a sagem HDD50 (G4) via HDMI at 720p, and my RVX1500 - I only have one word - stunning! :)

I can't compare it to any other players as I went to this from a hundred quid Sony. Haven't played any DVD-audio or sacd as yet (please bring me one or two Santa!).

    Cheers,
    Mark.
