Anyone have, or know where I can find, a picture of the inside of these players?

Well, despite the foregoing, I'm still looking for an internal photo, although I found one in the service manual, albeit a tiny black & white one, in which you can barely make out any detail. The manual makes interesting reading: the player seems effectively to have two de-interlacers, counting the one (excluded?) integral to the Ziva-5+ DVD System Processor. Also, although the spec lists 12bit/108MHz video DACS, the manual indicates five 10bit/54MHz (from the Ziva) for everything but component which uses ADV7310 Multiformat 216MHz Video Encoder with Six NSV™ 12-Bit DACs. It also uses Furore2 for SACD decoder. Even more intriguing is that an HDMI(/D2) daughter board is added off the progressive-scan board (hosting the Faroudja FLI2310 de-interlacer) in the "J" model of the player. So, with suitable firmware version, maybe you could get an HDMI D2 Board from spares, and add HDMI to your player :D
