Yamaha DVD 2500

I've done a quick search and couldn't find a thread where it states whether this is a good player or not. I'm thinking of either the s2500 or maybe the s1500. Are they any good or should I be looking elsewhere. I probably should mention that a mate of mine works for Yamaha and so I can get it for REALLY good price.

S2500 looks a really nice piece of kit, understated but classy...and gets five stars in the latest What Hi-Fi mag. An if you can get it for bargain price it sounds like a no-brainer to me

depends how cheap the player is
Cheapest I've seen the S2500 here (the titanium version) is £599...
