    Hi All,

    First post here.
I've got a Yamaha DSPA1 that has a dodgy matrix display. Basically it show "OLBY DIGITAL" and "S SUR SOUND". When the I first noticed the problem, I would tap the front of it and it would lluminate. Now this doesn't work anymore. However, when the it's switched on from cold, the matrix works. It's only after some time that the display goes wonky. I bought it new almost 5 years ago. The warranty is well gone by now, so I was wondering if any of you out there have some tips as to how I might remedy the situation. Could it be overheating perhaps? I've got about 3 or 4 inches of space above it where the DVD player sits on another shelf. Relocating is not an option right now due to space problems.

    Thanks.

It's a known fault. Some people said it's due to dry soldering points between display and board while others claim the entire display needs to be replaced. Let an expert have a look at it.
