I Thought i would post this as being an owner of the above AMP.
The mighty Yamaha has picked up 3 Awards this year.

Home Cinema Choice - Best AV Amplifier

EISA - HT HIGH END COMPONENT

What Hi Fi - Best AV Amp over £1000

    Now that's some going ;)

    John :)

I reckon it could win another award as 'Hottest Amp'.

I don't need to have central heating on when this amp is running - in fact, if I get peckish, it will probably do a great job at frying bacon.

I see it has onboard cooling fans which kick in when sensors detect it's getting too hot - I haven't heard them activate yet (other than in service mode), so who knows how much hotter it has to get before 'critical thresholds' are reached !

Yes they do get very hot thank god i had the Air conditioning on in the Summer or else it would of been melt down, what with the plasma / amp kicking out the heat it would of been like a sauna :D

    Superb amp though

    John :)

I think the last thing you have to worry about moving to a Z11 will be inferior sound.

And the first thing you will have to worry about is which DVD/BluRay to listen to first!

And you'll be lumbered with the same awful problem as Johnnyscot...which door to use the Z9 as a doorstop with.

I've finally managed to bag a DSP-Z9, it's currently on its way from Northern Ireland, should be here this week. Only downside is it's in black and I really wanted titanium.

If there is anyone out there that has a Z9 in titanium and wants one in black I'm happy to swap panels/knobs and some ££ to sweeten the deal:lease:

lol - yup must get round to selling the Z9! Now the Visa bill is through the Z11 is paid for so need to deal with my little 'liquidity crisis' lol I'm sure I could do a little better deal than £1800 for someone.

A gigantic Yamaha box has just greeted me in the kitchen, I opened it up and there was my mint black DSP-Z9!

Christ these things are big:D:thumbsup:. It looks like Darth Vaders death ray machine.

    Very very happy chap. :smashin:
