Apologies if this is an old question but I've not been on the boards for a while.

Got a Yamaha DSP E800 processor which I have had for two years and am very happy with. Just wondering whether there are any plans for Yamaha to introduce an upgrade to include Pro Logic II and other 'new' surround formats - either by way of a new model of the processor, or a software / chip replacement for the existing models.

Any news on this front that I've missed ?

    Cheers.

Haven't heard anything reg. a replacement for the E800.

Yamaha do not release upgrades for the budget line- your unit won't get hardware/software updates.

If you're looking to replace it- consider a new AV amp, or a AV Pre-Amp (Lexicon, Tag, Bryston etc)
