I have a Yamaha DSP-A595 amp that has no output to the sub woofer channel, I put it in for repair and was told that it was the equalizer chip that had gone. £88 to repair it. Am I being diddled? or is this a genuine problem. I cannot find any information on the web so I thought that I would ask you guys. The guy in the shop seems to be having trouble getting hold of one as it has been in there for nearly three weeks and I am having to use a cheap sherwood receiver that sounds awful compared to the yamaha.

I have the same amp and I have connected my subwoofer to this amp. There is a sub out at the rear of this amp which you can connect to your subwoofer. Please read the owners manual and you will see where this output connection is situated on the amp.
