I am trying to decide between purchasing the DSP-A5 or the 1601 in order to upgrade my system from pro logic to DD/DTS and get the most out of my DVD (Panasonic A160). The Denon has the advantage of having a tuner and being slightly cheaper. I am however veering towards the Yamaha on the grounds of increased digital connectivity (both my CD and MD have optical digital outputs). Does anyone have any advice on this?

Personally I would opt for the 1801 instead, which you should be able to get for the same price as the DSP A5. Much better sounding, and the digital inputs can be assigned, unlike the Yamaha which has its' fixed to inputs, no CD etc.
