    Hi All,
Quick question for you regarding an Amp.

In November 1998 I paid the princely sum of £675 for the best Amp I could afford...it came highly recommended.
    It was a Yamaha DSP-A1092.

I'm no HiFi expert, and while this amp has served me well over the years I'm confused now as to whether it is really true 5.1 Surround Sound capable.

I currently have it wired up to two JBL rear speakers, a Tannoy Centre, and two Wharfedale front speakers. I don't yet have a sub woofer. Its quite impressive, especially when using the various 'surround effect' options...but am I kidding myself its the real McCoy?

    Any advice?

Yes, it is - though limited to Dolby Digital (5.1), i.e. no DTS decoding.

Find further information about your amp right here at this site:

Oh, and I rekon to get a subwoofer, than you will have the real McCoy for sure. :D :D
