Yamaha cut out

    Spent most of the day setting up new AV gear only to find that my new out of the box Yamaha RXV1400 will not "fire up". As soon as I switch on the unit it immediately reverts back to standby.

    I guess this is the circuit protection kicking in (?) but having checked all connections as "clean" (speaker cables on banana plugs), I am at a loss as to what might be causing this.....

    Retailer closed now until Tuesday, so any help in the meantime would be welcomed:rolleyes:

    will it start up witout any connections in it?? try till it cuts out then you will have the problem

    No - I stripped back each connection, one at a time, but still the amp cuts out. Any further views - do I have a duff amp?

    I had the exact same problem when I booted up my RXV1400 for the first time , had to send it back for an replacement.

    Sounds like a faulty unit. Return to sender. ;)

    Faulty unit! Quickly exchanged by the dealer for another which is now singing in the room!:clap:
