I've got one of these and IMHO it's awesome. For that price point anyway.

    Upgraded from my old DSP-A3090.

I have not had a chance to test the DD EX or DTS ES modes as my room will not accommodate rear centre speakers.

I am amazed how much of a difference DPL2 makes over standard DPL.

    Definitely worth a demo.

I'm also thinking of getting one of these.

I have had my DSPAZ2 for 3 weeks or so,
had an DSPA2 before, better sound, 6.1 is superb, lord of the rings, blade 2 in discrete even the latest austin powers is 6.1 discrete and sounds excellent, would definately recommend.

I run a full 8 channel system using the front effects which is why I wanted the AZ2 to replace it.

also as my 3801 has 2 surround rears and your az2 only has 1

The rear is only the same signal anyway so cant see it makes much difference, probably depends on size of your room.

After all there is only one rear channel on the disc ? Could always wire two speakers in parallel/series for similar effect I think?
    careful of impedance here.

Only have room for one center anyway otherwise the seperation will suffer.

    THX who cares

DTS neo 6 MUSIC gives FL,FR,C,RL,RR RC from stereo source which sounds pretty good to my ears and I am fussy.

Various DSP programs bring in the various speakers and these can be edited.

Pro logic 2 is FR,C,FR,RL,RC and sounds okay but prefer DTS neo6

The amp generally sounds better than my old DSPA2, especially with music, I am driving bi-wired mission 783 for the front and quite impressed. To be honest the speakers make a big impact on system performance. I have missions all round for all 8 speakers.

The DSP front effects can reduce separtion but it still sounds superb too me anyway you can turn the DSP enhanced modes off!

The amp has more power than before and seems more refined.
