Do they all insist that your dvd player be connected by the optical socket?

Can you change it so the amp calls the coax connection 'DVD' not 'CD'? That's damn annoying, if you can't.

They are very heavily configured for optical use but the Coax can be configured for DVD use after a bit of fussing. I don't recall being able to change the name though.

Yes, weyland-yutani, you can fix it so that your amp does just that. Find the bit in your manual on I/O (input/output) assignment. The Coaxial input jack is initially set to CD but once you change the jack assignment it will think it's a DVD jack. You must then go to the part called Input Rename and change CD to DVD.

On my AX630 all I needed to do was assign the coax digital input to the DVD. No need to rename.
