Anyone modded or know if it is possible to mod a Yam A2 to get direct access to the 3rd, 4th and 5th channel power amps directly? (as you can do with the main L/R channels).

Using the 5.1 input, you have to go through a lot of circuitry including the volume control. This adds noise and if you knock the volume control, you lose calibration.

    Never heard of that one.

Tbh, I'd have thought a 2nd hand power amp would be a better/cheaper option?

Yeah. The way this hobby's grabbed me at the moment, it'll be a pair of Meridian amps to boot, albeit "entry-level" 555s. £££ Sigh!

Thanks recruit, but I'd just hate wasting that 5th channel. :D
