Yamaha 740 or Sony STRDB2000

    Yamaha 740 or Sony STRDB2000 undecided between these 2 av receivers using with 4 keffs eggs & 2 pagadigm adp100 bipolar rears, can anyone help me choose.

    If it was me I would buy the yamaha, I owned two Sony recivers & the 1st one gave me grief, the 2nd one has been OK, but its been a model that others have had probs with. Yamaha I've read virtually no reliablity probs at all. Sony stocks have been limited up until recently AFAIK

    Yamaha available for a good price here

    Just my 1ps worth

    As for me, I'm waiting for the Denon 3803 to discontinue & drop down to around £500 like the 3802 did last year...

    i have the str-db2000, it is a very nice sounding amp, although stocks are quite low.

    i have had the 930, 1070 and the 790 amp as well as a couple of yamahas's.

    i think you should try and demo the amps before purchasing, although i do think that the new sony is a step forward in the evolution stakes.
