I have recently connected up the following for a friend.
Sky+ (Thompson) via S-VHS cable to Yamaha 657 receiver, and then component from the receiver to his Panasonic TH42PE, making use of the s-VHS to component conversion in the Yamaha receiver.
The problem seems to be that the Sky picture is extremely bright, and occasionally grainy, whilst the picture from his DVD player is fantastic (also connected but component to amp and then the same component connection to the plasma).
I am assuming its a settings problem (as I dont have the same problem with my very similar, but older euipment, setup) and was wondering if anyone could advise me what to look for in either the Sky box, receiver or screen settings to improve this.
Many thanks.
