Just received a phone call from hificomponents.de saying they would not be receiving any more stock of the Yamaha 1400! This is backed up by Gersdorf.de who said the replacement 1500 is due out in November with a couple of extra features and new look!

Don't know if this effects other models or UK supply, but interesting all the same!

No surprise as the 1400 has been everywhere for £200 off.

It's an even better buy at £600.

Still more than I paid for mine

What a shame Vodder you will just have to go and get the 1500 and tell us all about it. I have no intention to upgrade my 1400 for some time unless I see a decent precessor/power amp set up going cheap

    I don't intend upgrading either! :)

Any new amps will probably only chaneg the look and tweak some features - the 1400 does everything that could be needed at the moment! Ain't even looking at power amps! (yet! :D )

Don't know if you saw my update on this thread http://www.avforums.com/frame.html?http://www.avforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=45

but hopefully I should get my 1400 early next week as I've finally had confirmation that its shipped!

I used to be an early adopter, then my flexible friend became my rigid enemy!

yamaha is really loosing out here. with the 1400 flying off the shelves, there is really no commercial reason to discontinue it. My guess is they experience supply problems with some components and need to save their face so they strike it out of people's lists. Seeing as it's the bottom of their higher end range and shares lots of components with it's pricey siblings it's the natural choice to sacrifice as they problablly have considerably better margins on the expensive stuff.
