I suspect his graphs are better than my earsThere seem to be issues with a testing unit of A6A left with Gene from Audioholics. He said today:
"This thing is a hot mess RN in how it handles digital fullscale and also the amp distortion. I'm biding my time publishing configuration set up tips for fellow owners until I can get some answers from Japan as to if they are working on fixes to what I've found. I'm not thrilled RN as you could imagine."
His full review is pending.

Or reversing time and trying to get younger. Aging also affects sensitivity of ears to distortions.Have you enquired about having your ears replaced with graphs?
Tbh I prefer seeing sound on graphs even makes Oasis look brilliant on a graph. maybe in future yamaha could include this, maybe adding a printing device to the front of it producing a graph.Or reversing time and trying to get younger. Aging also affects sensitivity of ears to distortions.
Current distortion found on one channel could be audible. It's not a drama, it's an issue to be discovered and be aware of in order to make a push for firmware update.
lol Im all over that !I've heard rumours that Dolby are experimenting with Venn diagrams?
Better monitors arrive with calibration report, as a standard. There is no reason for higher tier AVR not to arrive with similar SINAD measures, as part of internal benchmarking before shipment.Tbh I prefer seeing sound on graphs even makes Oasis look brilliant on a graph. maybe in future yamaha could include this, maybe adding a printing device to the front of it producing a graph.
hoping the 4k goodness comes soon
Indeed4K?
The AV receivers are already able to handle 4k 60Hz video.
I'm assuming that you mean the abilty to handle 8K and 4K 120Hz encoded video?
H1 2022, either after the certification process or a bit before, with a new beta.Still no firmware for 4k120
I was stuck between the t778 and the a8. Went with the a8 in the end, after I saw people were still getting bugs with the 778 and I also wanted heatsinks and not a fan as some had mentioned that as well.Strange i can't find any reviews of the A6A or A8A on youtube yet , i was was torn between the A6A and the NAD T778 .
I decided on the T778 and it’s awesome so far with no bugs & the fan is so quiet on my unit , how do you find the A8A ? I’m amazed that there isn’t any reviews as they have been out a while now .I was stuck between the t778 and the a8. Reliability was the deciding factor in all after going through the threads for that and the mrx anthem models which seemed to have a fair few problems as well.
Liking it so far, but then I'm still using my qa concept 20 speakers so not really heard the full potential yet. Separation is excellent however and didn't have that before so very happy with that.I decided on the T778 and it’s awesome so far with no bugs & the fan is so quiet on my unit , how do you find the A8A ? 24Gbps ?! Shouldn’t that be 40 ?For owners of A2A and other models from 2020. This is how packaged AVR with replaced HDMI board looks like. First replaced boards have started to arrive to owners. The message on the green sheet is interesting too. There is info about 24 Gbps port speed, something that our tech community was fighting for months to be officially published. Thank you to FlatPanelHD who challenged Yamaha on this and published the article for the public. Firmware is yet to arrive and undergo testing.

I do like the Yamaha sound , the new ones look great as well .Liking it so far, but then I'm still using my qa concept 20 speakers so not really heard the full potential yet. Separation is excellent however and didn't have that before so very happy with that.
I think with the reviews they can take a while to come through, I can still remember looking for the 778 ones, but once they started a flood of em came through.
So far so good, now just need to demo some nice speakers.
All models below the A4 are limited to just 24Gbps.24Gbps ?! Shouldn’t that be 40 ?
