Hi all, rocking out to new order at Glastonbury last nite and my amp shut off, we did have her cranked up a bit, disconnected every cable this morning pressed power,info,tone control all at one to get it working but it still goes into protection mode, any help please?

Just a quick one, I think I have a two year warranty, bought from seven oaks,going to give them a call tomorrow. does anyone know if yam do two year warranty on amps?

Regardless of the warranty the manufacturer gave you, you get a lot longer by law. You'd be covered by UK consumer law for at least 5 years after purchase.

Yes, Yamaha give you a 2 year manufacturers warranty. You need to contact the retailer who sold you the goods though and deal with them as opposed to going to the manufacturer directly.

The issue you have doesn't appear to be a inherent fault though or failure of a component before its time and appears to be due to you playing audio too loud? The warranty wouldn't cover you for this seeing as it is caused by you and not a fault that the receiver already had. I'd play stupid if asked by the retailer how the fault occurred and I'dbe hoping that they don't investigate it too thoroughly.

Good reply mate, I would have been straight in saying what happened, contacting seven oaks in the morning, surely the amp can take a little stick from time to time? Anyway new order was out of order they blew my amp,, I know it was me,, shush,,

Spoke to the retailer today, he was fine and said drop it in, he also said i would have to buy a original yam box as i didnt have mine any more, must havr lost it during house move,, dohh, and yam like them in original boxes so they dont get broke in transit,, also he said one of the speaker cables could have shorted, if so eould this void my warranty or are yam pretty good with warrantys, cheers.

One other thing, when i disconnected the front speaker, the cable was already unplugged from amp, rhere was a spark asif there was a charge in the cable, that cant be right can it??
