Just wondering if there is ANY difference what so ever apart from the RX having RDS, I found 2 shops saying they are the same apart from RDS but one other shop has the RXV620 listed as £328 and the AX620 listed as £349 which suggests to me the AX is in some way better because it doesnt have RDS but costs more at this shop.

So is the RXV620RDS identical to the AX620 other than RDS or is there some difference?

IMHO there is none - the difference BTW is the tuner (w/ RDS) but not the RDS itself.

I.e. the DSP-AX620 does not have a radio. It should normally be cheaper.

kewl, thats what I suspected, just someone on this board said the rxv620 was older, but I dont think it is and even if it is it's still identical.

I found the RXV620 for only £4 more than the AX620 so the RXV it is.

AX is the new model on the block, it shares circuitry with the A1 or something.
The RX is the older models I'm sure.

There should be an AX620RDS floating around, but your best bet would be to audtion the RX620RDS with the AX620 & judge for yourself.

Nope, I doubt that. "DSP-AXnnn" refers to integrated AV amplifiers (no tuner/radio and hence no RDS) while "RX-Vnnn" refers to AV receivers, "RDS" at the end indicates, take a guess, RDS for the tuner section.
(Asian models e.g. do not have RDS.)

The DSP-A1 was replaced with the DSP-AX1 a year or so ago.
    DSP-A2 and DSP-596 with DSP-AX2 and DSP-A5 respectively.
The DSP-AX620 is the replacement for the DSP-A5.
