XS32 Timer Recording - Oddity?

I had a two timer recordings set today. The second started with only a 1 minute gap between it and the first so obviously the machine did not shut down between.

I then cancelled the second timer before it started.

The XS32 stayed powered on after I cancelled the not-yet-started timer.

I then (within a few minutes) manually started a recording by pressing the record button.

When I pressed stop to end the recording an hour later, the XS32 shut down.

Is this meant to happen or is it an oddity?
