I'm guessing this is the developers version as the normal public version isn't available until later this month?

Also, the file size is 266MB and yet SP2 is only supposed to be 80MB. How so?

Hmmm indeed - Ive just tried this 260mb SP2 and it seems ok. Got extra features like pop up blocker and firewall and Wireless Wizard. Not convinced this is final version though.

Not sure what you mean by 'final' version but it seems it is the official release for dsitributors, etc.
Just checked on the Microsoft website and it's there.

Think I'll wait for the normal consumer version which should be available within the next few days.

I decided to install this update just to see what it's like.
I'll ghost my old image back on and install the standard consumer one when it's available.

Anyway, the new Firewall options look promising, as does the pop-up blocker.
Apart from that, I can't see any other major differences or new applications.

Windows Update seems to be different as it takes me to a different site.
I suspect however that has to do with having this 'administrator's' update installed.

Ever since I've installed this, my mouse pointer seems to be wandering around the screen. The pointer occasionally crawls up or across the screen on it's own. Any ideas ?
