I'm going crazy here trying to do something that should be simple for a computer person like me I have a network of XP Pro computers at home and all I need to do is to share folders to be able to access them from another computer. I get the shared folder listed in network neighbourhood but when I click in it I get a message telling me i might not have permission to use it. I've created users on all the computers with the same password as on the computer they log on with. Still won't work. Strange thing is that I can get into the C drive on one of the computers but not the external usb drive. Please can someone save me from cracking up completely If I type "dir \\computername\sharename\" at the dos prompt i get "not enough server storage is available to process this command"
