    Guys,

I'm looking at the XLS200 and have noticed you can now purchase as a downward firing sub!

    Whats the difference???

Does a downward firing produce better results???
    Is it easier to position???
Are there issues with concrete floors????

I'd much rather have a DF sub because aesthetically they look better but I don't want to compromise sound quality!!

    What do you think??
    Thanks
    Stace :D :D

You won't be compromising sound quality by buying a downward firing sub as any SVS owner will tell you.

Certainly no complaints here and pesky kids and animals cannot get their fingers in easily!

    Hi Stace,

My downwards firing XLS 200 arrived this morning

It certainly looks good - I'll let you know how I get on with positioning and set-up.

    Cheers

I've placed my DF in the same positioning as my FF one. I watched I,Robot Sunday night, WOW that has some serious rumbleings! Mega impressed by the DF version.

Coastersteve, is your forward firing sub also an XLS200? If so, can you tell us whether there's much difference between the two?

All XLS200 owners, please share your opinions on the build quality of the sub. I'm STILL undecided on which sub to go for! I have the full MS Avant setup, and I was 99% decided on the matching MS309. But everyone is still raving about the BK! Would I be mad to go for anything other than the perfectly matched MS309?

Presumably you've read the Budget sub test sticky at the top of this forum? IMO, the XLS200 has better build quality than the MS but there's not much in it.

How does the DF position affect placement.

I currently have my sub behind my sofa and it is far from perfect, very boomy!!

Would a DF allow me to continue with it behind the sofa or would I still need to move it out front???

    Thanks
    Stace
