Hi
Need some advice what option should i proceed.
SCAN offered the below as replacement for an XFX 6850 xxx (offer on 26 Sep)

XFX DD Core Edition Radeon HD 7770 AMD Graphics Card - 1GB - FX-777A-ZDF4 - Scan.co.uk

Or

£50 +VAT refund

old card

XFX HD 6850 AMD Radeon Graphics Card - 1GB - HD-685X-ZCFC - Scan.co.uk

I think this is NO fair as

1. From the review the 7770 was slightly slower than 6850. Another downside is there lack of two DVI and two DP (oppose to old card)which is quite important to me.:thumbsdow

2. The refund of £50 +VAT is totally inefficient as it does not reflect the current value of card nor it can bought another card with similar power

I am not sure how much refund should be acceptable at this point.

Bottom line is, I think should get any replacement which has at least same power as 6850 or be asked for some reasonable contribution toward upper model like... 7850

XFX Core Edition Radeon HD 7850 AMD Graphics Card - 1GB - FX-785A-ZNFC - Scan.co.uk

or

MSI Overclocked Radeon HD 7850 AMD Graphics Card - 1GB - R7850-1GD5/OC - Scan.co.uk

That card has DVI and Displayport, it says in the spec. if you don't accept what are the other options? Maybe they will give you store credit to put towards a better card if that is what you want

i mean 2 dvi and 2 dp. sorry.

At the monent (26 Sep)they offer me ... GBP 50 + vat for refund which i dont think it is enough. i bought the card about 7 months ago. for 100 pounds. to be fair i think they should give a card which has at least same power as my 6850...

im still in the process of negotiate with scan.

Update 27 Sep 13:17

Scan offered me 75.77 +VAT = 90.924 as a reduction toward a faster card.
I think i might accept this as it would be a good time to get a 7850.
should I stick with XFX or move on to other brand.

Avoid XFX they are known for their bad RMA service, although don't hesitate to buy one of their PSUs as they are made by Seasonic :)

It would be my initial thought... but after going through RMA service with SCAN it is was not that bad... In my case it is till acceptable but it could have been better.

My concern is with the product quality of XFX.

XFX are on offer today though, you could get a 2GB 7850 for £151, pretty hard to ignore

Thanks I just check it out and I have few choices to make...

0. (cheapest) XFX Core Edition Radeon HD 7850 AMD Graphics Card - 2GB - FX-785A-CNJC - Scan.co.uk £151 todayonly

1. Gigabyte HD7850 OC AMD/ATI Graphics Card - 2GB - GV-R785OC-2GD - Scan.co.uk £161.74

2. XFX Core Edition Radeon HD 7850 AMD Graphics Card - 2GB - FX-785A-CNJC - Scan.co.uk £154.54 todayonly

3. XFX 7850 Core Edition DD AMD/ATI Graphics Card - 2GB - FX-785A-CDFC - Scan.co.uk £167.99 todayonly

4.http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-msi-radeon-hd-7870-twin-frozr-oc-4800mhz-gddr5-28nm-gpu-1050mhz-dl-dvi-hdmi-mdp£183.34

I have read this about RMA service in case i need one...
Graphics Card Warranty's - Let's see how good they really are *Look* - Overclockers UK Forums

it seems gigabyte 7850 or another £22 for the MSI 7870 might be a good choice.
Also i can leave XFX right now... plus i get better cooling :p

On Sat 29 Sep
scan add this...
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-msi-radeon-hd-7850-overclocked-4800mhz-gddr5-gpu-900mhz-1024-cores-dvi-hdmi-2x-mini-displayport £134.98

which will make this the cheapest choice by far...
I might just get on with it...

The MSI or gigabyte would be a great choice, the single fan XFX coolers are pretty nasty as they have been using them since the HD4870's.
