Xelos 42 Hard Drive

Hi all - firstly apologies if I'm in the wrong place, I is a newbie.

I have a Loewe Xelos 42 and a while ago the built in hard drive failed - I've disconnected it because the clicking noise it was making was driving me mad but all is well now thats been done.

Now I'm not going to pay a small mortgage to get it repaired by a service agent if only because it would be much cheeper to put en external PVR on it but I was wondering if anyone had tried to replace their hard drive in one of these and if they managed to do. I'm guessing its actually quite straight forward and that all I need is a new comparable drive and perhaps need to format it with FAT32 but before I go ahead and give it a go I thought it might be worth asking - ta muchly.
