XE1 worth the extra?

I have just bought a Panasonic PX50 Plasma, and would like to buy a HD DVD. However, I am a little torn at present. Is the XE1 better at upscaling than the E1, and if so is it noticable? Also is the sound quality on the XE1 so much better than the E1?

With regards to audio, the XE1 has an additional output in the form of 5.1 analogue. Do your own research on this site to ascertain if this is of use to you and whether you're OK with the current issues associated with using that output.

With regards to SD DVD upscaling, the XE1 is one of the best upscalers on the market, matching high-end video processors, and exceptional value especially if you get it for the price at which Play are currently listing it.

(the XA2 is the US equivalent of the XE1)

And it's pretty good at playing HD DVDs too :)
