Xda Exec/ Moto Q

I have just bought my Wife a new XDA Exec on O2 Anytime 500 tariff. I am quite impressed in some ways: it has a very usable built-in QWERTY keyboard and 3G is appreciably faster than GPRS. Although I think the screen is clearer than my Dell Axim, it seems to sort of “shimmer” when searching/downloading etc. Is this normal?
It also seems to be a bit of a battery muncher, but I suppose it’s the nature of the beast!

My contract is up in March. Anyone know if the Moto Q will be out by then?

More to the point - will the Q even be released? There has been enough talk about the launch being completely scrapped to be believable.
