Most likely yes, and that will be the main reason MS will succed in stopping piracy of sorts.

I couldn't imagine 360 without live....

Saying that you could just buy two. I don't believe it anyway.

So M$ would still win, they'd have you buy a second console, plus the game legitimately so you can play online, which you've paid for the live subscription too - and more than likely, you'd play more pirated games than you would have ever considered buying before playing on pirate, then buying them legitimately because you want to play them online :)

if rumour of a dvd drive hack springs true (like xbox 1) you may still be able to live....

sure this would allow piracy only though and not homebrew.

Don't You just hate piracy, all that time and effort putting into making the game and some people are not even prepared to hand over a few quid for it.

I mean if its a quality piece of entertainment (like FN3 :D ) then just pay up!

I agree with backups if you own the original but theres a fine line.

Just my 2p

I agree aswell, i used to be bad for chipping all my machines and getting as many games as poss but in the end how many did I actually play? only a handfull and for me to chip my 360 and go without live then its a big no no for me. I think M$ have it spot on with live, its just so good that you wouldn't want to have your machine chipped!!!!

for me chipping the 360 isnt about the games its about extending its capability as a media center. I have the original XBOX and a modded one and never once copied / played a copy on the modded one but spent about £300 on original games for the original - the modded xbox was purley used as a media (and indeed still is)

I get a bit excited thinking about the combination of power of the 360+creative open source geeks who build apps such as XBMC ! Roll on a fully featured XBMC for the 360 ! (or M$ could stop me from doing this and simply open up (any format) video play via XBConnect  )

Same here - I'd love to be able to get rid of the big black box as I'd promised the mrs I would when I bought the 360 :D

I'd only chip it if it was one you could turn off to play live though (which is how I used to play with xbox1). Of course none of this would be necessary if MS just gave us a decent media center in the first place
