    Hello
I would like to take advantage of xbox2 HDTV and its component input.
Is this set suitable.JVC HV-32P37 FLATSCREEN TELEVISION. Or is there something more suitable around the £500 mark.

That model is no good. You need to up your budget a bit to get a HD 32' display.

    Hi

I had that tv for a year or so and it was a very good set i had a chipped xbox connected to the component inputs running games at 480p and 1080i but the tv does not support 720p which is what xbox2 games will apparently be running in so i suggest you have a look at the cheap 26" lcd screens if you want to get the best out of xbox2 when its released.

Well if the XBox2 is going to support 1080i via component a JVC HV-32D40 will be fine as it supports 1080i. My 28D40 does for sure.
