I have a JVC television with an XBOX which I use for DVDs. I'm looking to get a 5.1 surround speaker package without a DVD player for under £250. It's a small room, so I don't need a lot of power. I was looking at Bose speakers due to their small size, but they make no reference to 5.1.
Would Bose speakers do? If not, what's the hot tip for sub-£250 speaker systems at the moment?!

If you don't want to stretch your budget then you can get a fairly good 5.1 surround sound setup for between £50 and £100 from places like PC World. And they normally have all sorts of inputs on the back, optical, coaxial, Cd etc. so you can connect all sorts of devices.
Have a look on PC Worlds website to get an idea, get one and if you don't like it take it back.
I use a Packard Bell one and it's fine for me.
Of course you can also get an all in one sound system made by the likes of Panasonic and JVC for less than £200 Just for an example see HERE . It does have a DVD player but you dont have to use it ;)
