I've played the multiplayer. Very good indeed, can't wait for the full release.

how?

Yep. Had a preview session a couple of weeks back. Only got to play it for an hour, but it was very promising.

I actually think 4 players is going to work for it, not against. It's tense sneaking around not knowing where people are. That wouldn't be the case if there were loads of players. You just need to remember that it's a stealth game, not a shooter. (sorry, stating the obvious)

Personally I think you need a three team minimum - Rainbow Six three is testimony to this in Co-op and Mission. But I'll still be getting it. The reviews so far have been excellent and the idea of shooting a yank in the back of the head whilst hanging upside down from a drainpipe is just too much fun to think about.

It doesn't play anything like Rainbow Six, so the comparison isn't really fair.

I think the comparison still stands. I wasn't comparing the action, just the feeling I seem to get with online titles. One on one works for sporting titles. It doesn't really work for multiplayer shoot em ups (or any mode I've played in any online shooter). I suppose SC2 could be so incredibly different that the comparison doesn't stand up. I'll stand by my bed until I play it!

And I'm definitely looking forward to it. What with this and Shadow Warriors out in the next month and a half I'll have to book some time in the diary for other things like life. And sleep.

It's not a shoot em up; it's Splinter Cell with humans.

What's the point in a stealth game where you bump into people and have gun fights every 30 seconds? You might as well play a shooter. If you're expecting Rainbow Six then I think you may be disappointed.

Sorry, not having a pop. It's just that I've heard this 4-players criticism lots already, and I'm not convinced it's fair.

That's okay Willy - I'm new to online gaming and have already just about had my fill of online shooters (although I did by counterstrike two weeks - I wanted to see what all the fuss was about - RS3 is better in my opinion but again it isn't really a fair comparison).

SC2 will offer something different so perhaps the feeling of playing it will be different. I'll find out in about two and a but weeks if the game makes its xbox release date. :)

I think people are moaning that it's 2v2 cos most of us play with more than 3 other people on live.
On R6 we can host 10-12 so 2v2 is going to mean not playing with the other 6 guys while the 4 of us play.

Thats the only reason i said 4 on live would put some off :)

I wasn't talking about you mate - I've heard it plenty of places.

I just think it would be a shame if people didn't give it a fair go because they felt 4 wasn't enough players. Seeing as how you seem to be helplessly addicted to Live I don't think there was ever any danger of that. :)

Seriously though, online gaming is great, but in order to expand and progress it needs to host a wide variety of game types. Pandora Tomorrow is taking an ambitious step in the right direction, and I'm all for that.

I agree with you mate, most of the people i play live with are getting it & when i get back i'll give it a crack for sure.

i love the idea of playing as a spy - obvioulsy you will only have voice comms with your team mate - but when you grab one of the lads from the opposite team (mercs) voice comms with the opponent you have grabbed comes on.

so you can whisper sweet nothings in their ear before killing em.

Class.

Or in a whispered tone " How is it, being taken from behind"
