E3 2015 New Xbox One Dashboard with...

Looks good glad they have addressed the speed issues, Cortana looks interetsing!

One of my biggest gripes was speed of dash... so I am very happy with this!

Looks good so far. Cant help but think we will then loose the ability to snap. It doesn't say anything in the video and double tap now brings up the left menu bar, where is snap centre?

There is a little snap icon/button in the left bar, plus I imagine voice commands will still work for it.

I think that looks very promising and is really what the XB1 should have been from launch (rather than the clunky and unintuitive Windows 8 based system). Really impessed by the speed and the clean interface and the Cortana feature looks stunning if it works that well. Can't wait to try it out, but initial impressions are very good indeed!

It would be nice to see the X1 dash perform better. Its ever so slight lag is noticeable when coming from the PS4.

All I've seen so far is "Launching globally this fall" but i'm sure it will be released to preview 1st.

I was hoping for an announcement on DRM sharing for families which would include movies bought off their Xbox Video service, but maybe there are more announcements to come!

"Coming this holiday" builds my hopes up as I think that the release of certain games, updates is round the corner till I realise that its "Fall"

Dont our American friends get Summer holidays?

Fall usually means September time for this kind of thing doesn't it.

I think the annual dashboard updates which used to arrive for the 360 were around Oct/Nov time. It was always enough time for the dust to settle before people hammered the consoles with Christmas games.

I would estimate August for the preview given the release date of Windows 10

Was wondering that myself. Hopefully they'll let you assign your own tag to favourite GTs if needed.

On the demo, they ask the question "Is Amanda online?" making me think real names are usable.

Maybe it's dependent on if the person with the GT in question allows their real name to be shown?

Yeah, exactly. I'd expect Cortana to be able to recognise either. I've never understood why people choose tags that aren't pronounceable though, I mean how do you talk to them in a game anyway?

Thankfully for people on my friends list there aren't that many people called Kirk, so they should be fine with me. I have no idea how many people called 'Dave' I have on my friends lost though and saying 'hey Cortana add Dave to the party' could result in a full party sharpish :rotfl:

Might have a job adding me;)
I've still got that guy showing up on all my notifications, even though I blocked him.
Perhaps Cortana could sort that problem out for me.....
I can't work out why they put so much sh*t into the dashboard but don't give you the option to opt out of any of it? the amount of unnecessary crap you have to wade through to do stuff must have it's toll on the speed of the dash?

I've cortana on my work phone and if I say call "Ben" she will ask me do I want to call Ben home or mobile number as I have two numbers for him. I presume it will work along those lines, though good luck trying with "cortana, add XxBabez4LifexX" lol
