    hi
    is anyone playing xbox live with 128k broadband & if so what is it like.as i`m getting broadband this week & a 128k is £14.99 plus i`m a tight git so don`t want to pay £25.00 for 600k so is 128k ok for xbox live.

    Is that 128k up & down?

    Should work fine if someone else is hosting the game (there are only a few servers actually hosted by MS, most are hosted on peoples own xbox).

    If you hosted a game you would only people able to have about 3-4 players with 128k up.

    dom h ms only hosting afew will that change on march 14th.i don`t know anything about broadband it the ntl 128k if that helps.

    this is a bit of issue at the moment, when live was anounced everyone thought MS would set up thousands of high speed servers hosting all the games. This turned out not to be the case, there are MS servers hosting unreal at the moment but MOST games will be hosted on peoples own machines.

    This causes problems as people try to host 16 player games on innadequate connections (main reason for lag on live at the mo)

    UC supposedly takes 28kbit/s (less than UTk3 on pc) for each player so...

    ADSL with an upload speed of 256kbit/s could theoretically host 9 players, 8 comfortablely.

    The MS servers can easily host 16 player unreal games. I think more will be setup as time goes on.

    now i see cheers i`ll just get a 128k for the pc & see what happens when it goes live in march.i can always upgrade if needs be.

    Get 600k and use on net as well :)
