I am hoping someone can help me. I have a modded Xbox with a dual boot OS. I recently tried to get onto Xbox live with my chip disabled and I was notified a dashboard update is needed. When my Xbox reboots I get a message saying that there is not enough space on the hard disk to perform the update. Any ideas on how to resolve this problem?

    :lease:

Have you got any game saves you can delete to free up some space
but i think you main problem sounds like you need a bigger HD as there are always gonna be updates and if you manage to squeeze this one on you will have no game save space and future updates

    Hi UncagedTyphoon,

Thanks for the response. I will have to have a look at it tonight but I'm not sure what's going on. I have a 40gig HDD already that was professionally partitioned when I had it modded. So unless the saved games have built up over time I'm baffeled why this error is ocurring.

Where abouts are your Applications saved (XBMC, Boxplorer etc?)...

The system partition is C:/, and should (ideally) only contain dashboard information - there's usually buckets of space left over even once you have 2/3 different dashboards on there.

All Games/Music/Applications should be saved on the E:/ partition - if you've inadvertently saved some things on C:/ instead, this could explain the error :)

This shouldn't effect a dashboard update as all Game Saves are on the E:/ partition too  40 gigs is plenty big enough...

Thanks Kelvin, like I say I'll check tonight. I was just interested if anyone had come across this and it turned out to be a serious issue. If it is just a case of managing space on the C partition then I'll sort it out tonight.

Just to clarify the Dashboard update uses the C partition right? Any ideas how much space the latest update requires?

    No problem,

I'm sure you'll find it's just something simple. And yes, the dashboard update uses the C:/ partition - I couldn't tell you how big it is though.

Good luck, post back on here if you have any problems.
