Anybody know wether we'll ba able to take our existing Live subs over when we all upgrade to 360's in the summer?
Would seem like an awful waste of gamertags if we couldn't...

Its confirmed that people can transfer their Gamertags over to the 360 - it is the same service essentially anyway. What isn't confirmed is if we will have to pay any kind of supplement to transfer our remaining subs time over - it should be nominal if we do, as the price of Live will not be increasing significantly.

Your Friends list/stats etc will transfer across with you too, and you can still play friends who still use the original Xbox when you're using your 360 (as long as the game is a backwards compatible title, of course).

I've seen a blog that said it would transfer at no cost. However what if you want to play an online game on your "old" xbox that isnt playable on the 360. Hows that going to work? it isnt is it? once you transfer your old box is dead for live games unless you take out another "xbox only" subscription

No you would just re activate your account on the xbox - just like you do when you play on a friends xbox.

Xbox live is a 1 box at a time thing. In other words, you can tansfer from one box to another but can't have it active on two boxes at the same time.

Live accounts are concurrent providing your subs are up to date. People playing Halko 2 on an xbox will be able to play people using a 360 and so forth.

    Thats the idea really.

I thought the whole point about live in the future is that if you've paid for it, you can get online at home, round your mates, or where ever there's an XBOX and online connection. I assumed you'd just log in and out with your password.
