Right, I have a question before I have to just go and buy the wireless adapter.

I have a couple of PCs in the house. The ground PC is set up with a wireless router. My PC is upstairs and has a Wireless USB adapter. Is there anyway I can connect the PC upstairs to my 360 via ethernet (crossover) and use the wireless adapter on my PC as the 360 access point? Is that's not possible, can I use any 3rd party wireless adapter with the 360 or does it have to be the expensive official one?

Im not sure, But what i can tell you is the official one is worth every penny, Picked my signal up as soon as i clipped it on the back of the 360, I didnt have to mess around at all, Just plugged it on the back 2 mins later im playing wireless internet gaming, And its neat too and doesnt need another socket point

I haven't tried it, but surely the theory that your run ICS on the upstairs PC and connect to the 360 is a sound one. I don't know why it wouldn't work...and what have you got to lose, just the cost of a ethernet cable surely (oh and a network card for your PC if you don't already have one)? Give it a try, let us know.

You can't just use any old adapter on the 360, no, it has to be one that doesn't require drivers, so all USB ones are out except for the official. Wireless game adapters from Linksys or Netgear are about £45-£55 too, so the MS one isn't maybe as expensive as you think.

all you need to do is select the internet connection and the ethernet conenction the 360 is on Local area network or whatever its called then u just make sure both are selected and go bridge connections that way your have the pc and the 360 both accessing the internet. I did it for the first few days i got my 360 but turning my pc on everytime got annoying so i bought a 10m lead and went relifting the floor boards
